Bio

A virtuoso harpist with impressive credentials, Bonnie Goodrich has won numerous awards and competitions, including earning solo performances with the Houston Symphony at age 18 as winner of the HSO Student Auditions.

During her studies with the legendary Lucile Lawrence at Boston University, she held the position of principal harp for both the Concert Opera Orchestra of Boston and the Boston Romanul Chamber Orchestra.

In Houston, she performed with the Houston Symphony, Houston Ballet, Houston Grand Opera, and the Houston Pops, as well as developed a successful free-lance career as a soloist and chamber musician.  She provided daily harp music for Afternoon Tea at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel for 15 years and has over 25 years' experience as director of the Goodrich Harp Studio.

In addition to recitals, she is in demand for performances at elegant private occasions.  For over 30 years, she has performed at Houston's premier corporate and social events.

She also maintains a busy schedule as teacher, arranger, clinician, and advocate for the harp.  For 18 years, Ms. Goodrich directed the Angelus Harp Ensemble for young harp students.  The Ensemble has been regular performers for lobby concerts for the Houston Symphony, Houston Ballet, Houston Grand Opera, Museum of Fine Arts, and local radio & TV.  They produced their first CD in 2006.

Her students have consistently won top honors at local and statewide competitions, participated in elite summer music camps, and played in Houston's finest youth orchestras.  Some have gone on to professional careers.

Committed to increasing harp awareness, Ms. Goodrich has orchestrated a number of events to share the instrument with the community, including importing guest concert artists & lecturers, chairing local harp competitions, arranging masterclasses & workshops, and 8 years of organizing the annual Celebration of the Irish Harp.
